The Keys to Successfully Jump Start Another Car

Safely jump-starting another car requires being careful and having a few pieces of safety gear on hand. Once you have the running car close to the car to be jumped, it is time to put on your safety glasses and a good pair of gloves. Turn the engine off, open the hood of both cars, and be sure the lights of the car are off too.

Now take the jumper cables, red is positive, and goes to positive ends of good battery first, then the bad battery. The black cables are negative, and one goes to good battery negative side, other to any surface of exposed metal on your car being jumped. Start the one car, wait, after a few minutes you can try to crank over the engine of the car that was jumped.

Our crew at Tyson Motor Corporation is available to test or service your car battery in the event it fails.
